This workshop will deal with Jeffrey Kripal’s work and thought from a perspective related to some of the transcultural activities of the platform “Research and Intellectual Dialogue”. Our discussions will revolve around subjects like Kripal’s “Gnostic reversal of thinking” (in the face of postmodern and the postcolonial turn), the integration of “abnormal experiences” (in religion, arts, and scholarship) into specific social frameworks, the relationship between empowered imagination and impossible experience, and a reevaluation of the role of the “the human” in the global context of today.
