Transversal Paths is the online review of Interstices: Center for Transversal Thinking, whose members formerly constituted the Intellectual Dialogue Team. The review is edited in collaboration with the Alain Daniélou Foundation.

Transversal Paths continues and deepens the transcultural and ecosophical content already present in previous publications of the Alain Daniélou Foundation, Transcultural Dialogues, the third format of the online publication of the Alain Daniélou Foundation, after Cahiers de la Fondation and the Newsletter Indialogues). The transcultural aspect of the review lies in its way of dealing with other cultures – not only by means of research on differences, but also through an exercise of self-critique with regard to many of our own unquestioned convictions. The ecosophical dimension implies not only an interest in another conception of nature and the earth but also in new modalities of relation between humans and non-humans.

Transversal Paths emphasizes moreover a new conception of intellectual work based on the idea of “transversality” – differing from the logic of academic publications as well as from that of general divulgation literature. The transversal element, interdisciplinary and open to other forms of thinking, is already found in Transcultural Dialogues and is strictly related to Alain Daniélou’s creative spirit, especially in dealing with “the culture(s) of other(s)”.

Transversal Paths intends to bring this new approach to fruition in different subjects related both to the heritage of Western culture and to non-Western systems of thought and modes of being-in-the-world that pose a challenge to it and compels it to modify its cultural lens.

Transvesal Paths is issued twice a year.
