This performance is an original production by the dancer Apoorva Jayaraman. One of the finest students of the celebrated dancer Priyadarshini Govind, Apoorva is recognised internationally as one of the most promising Bharatanatyam dancers today. Apoorva has taught for some years in India, Europe, and the United States, and features in the collection of teaching DVDs prepared under the guidance of Priyadarshini Govind, and produced and distributed worldwide under the label Kalakriya. This performance is promoted by the Alain Daniélou Foundation, in collaboration with Associazione Gamaka, Reset Doc, and Università Ca’ Foscari.
