Open/Close Menu Fondation Alain Daniélou
IITM 50me Anniversaire

In November 2013, the Alain Daniélou Foundation celebrated the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the International Institute for Traditional Music (IITM) in Berlin by Alain Daniélou. A two-days event was held at the MusikSalon of the Ethnologische Museum in Berlin. The first evening was dedicated to Indian Classical Music, including a round table and concert by Indian musician Ashok Pathak. While the second evening featured a kaleidoscopic view on musical developments with a strong base in the tradition, starting with a concert homage to Alain Daniélou by Werner Durand and Amelia Cuni, leading gradually to contemporary forms and rounded up by a DJ, using traditional material.
